Holy Spirit Baptism

Proof?

Have you ever wondered if speaking in tongues proves a person has been baptized in the Holy Spirit?

The Apostolic Church of Pentecost has in its statement of faith, “We believe in the baptism with the Holy Spirit as an experience subsequent to salvation with the Scriptural evidence; namely, speaking in tongues.” Is there a biblical basis for this statement of faith or is it merely a relic of the early Pentecostal period? More importantly, God is interested in Christians living an empowered life!  The Holy Spirit wants us to have regular power encounters with Him.  These power encounters enable us to live an exciting and miraculous life, and to be bold and effective witnesses for God’s Kingdom.

Let’s consider the powerful baptism in the Holy Spirit and prepare to be filled with God Himself!

Holy Spirit is with us!

History has clearly shown the impact that baptism in the Holy Spirit has had in the world. Scripture speaks of positive fruit that can develop as we speak in tongues.

I notice when I don’t continually spend time praying in the Spirit, my life lacks, power and direction, I find myself burning out because I’m not surrendering myself to Him daily.

I am curious where the correlation of casting out demons by speaking in tongues is found in Scripture.

I agree with the point made that it does bring power and have always personally utilized the gift during deliverance ministry, but is it expressly correlated scripturally that it is necessary or “easier” when doing so? From a brief mental review of the examples in scripture, the disciples always commanded the spirits in Jesus’s name.

I am curious about what others might have to say

Actually, i have never neglected the gift of the Holy Spirit because, He’s God personified, and everyone needs to have regular power encounters with the Holy Spirit.

I can never underestimate what prayers can do, actually, one can pray in tongues with the infilling of the Holy Spirit.

I did not neglected the gift of the Holy Spirit. There is power in speaking in tounges. Satan can’t even understand it so it’s a big privilege and let’s used it.
