Lesson 3 – What is the Evidence of the Baptism of the Holy Spirit?

I have neglected this gift, but I don’t believe it has been intentional. I have never spoken in tongues and I still have a good amount of skepticism around it, truthfully. I don’t know if my skepticism is a relic of my former atheism, or if it’s just that I’ve never witnessed anyone speaking in tongues and so I have no reference experience. Either way, it seems to be something that is a bit of a hurdle for me. I want to believe and I want to be given this gift, but I think I have to conquer my inhibitions first. All of my seeking seems to have led me to this conclusion, that it is my own unbelief getting in the way, and that the Lord is waiting until I am ready to believe to bestow this gift upon me. Because of this, I suppose I have underestimated what my prayer language can do since I haven’t yet acquired one. I also suppose that I have some spiritual work to do in this area.
