Of course, we believe in the Holy Spirit. But who is He?

Was Harvard professor Harvey Cox a visionary when he wrote in his 1965 book “The Secular City” that the world’s culture was on the verge of becoming secular and that cities of the world would be lost to Christianity? Thirty years later he wrote another book entitled “Fire from Heaven: The Rise of Pentecostal Spirituality and the Reshaping of Religion in the 21st Century” in which he recanted his previous position.  Pentecostalism in all its forms and brands has continued to influence the world since that eventful Day of Pentecost in Acts 2.  A key signature of this is, of course, the baptism in the Holy Spirit and speaking in tongues!

The Holy Spirit is ready to empower you for the life of miracles referred to in Lesson 1.

Have you learned to listen inwardly to the voice of the Holy Spirit?

Your life of miracles begins as you allow the Holy Spirit to clothe you with the ‘Dunamis’ power of God.  May you become a powerhouse, a dynamic witness for the Kingdom of God!

Test yourself:

In the 60's an author named Harvey Cox predicted that Christianity was a dying religion and would cease to exist in the 21st Century. What changed his mind?

The rise of Spirit-led charismatic movements across the world changed the face of the contemporary church and reengaged with humanity in a revolutionary way.

Reflect on these questions and answer in the discussion.

Have you learned to listen inwardly for the voice of the Holy Spirit? What is this experience like for you? What helped you do this?
