Christ Transforms the Church

How do you measure the value of your church?

Every Christian is on a journey that began when the person became a Christian and will continue through to the day when that person is no longer a part of life here on earth. At the heart of that journey is the fact that every Christian is slowly being transformed into the kind of person who reflects the life of Jesus Christ. What is true of the individual Christian is also true of the church. Jesus is transforming your church.

It may seem like a very slow process but Paul tells us that it is taking place. In the past two videos, we saw that the value of a church is determined by the church’s relationship to Jesus, it’s head. In this video, we will consider that relationship once again from the perspective of this transformation.

What does it mean for a church to be transformed? Consider that question as you watch the video.

We are being transformed

You may not be pleased with your church at the moment but Jesus is going to change it until it is perfect. The value of your church not only should be judged by what it is now but by what Jesus will make it.

  1. What would it mean for your church to be transformed?
  2. What would you most like to see changed in your church? Is this change an external change (program, music style, worship format) or a heart change?

In your own words, discuss the following questions:

    1. Why was it important that Old Testament sacrifices be without defect of any kind?
    2. What does it mean for the church to be the bride of Christ?
