Understanding the Power of Speaking

God moves

Renewal, personal transformation, organizational change and cultural shifts happen through the power of speaking.

Speaking/teaching is one of the primary ways that God moves people towards his desired ends for their lives.

Both Scripture and the history of the church powerfully demonstrate that the proclamation of truth is key to God’s purposes on earth. This session raises your levels of faith in terms of what you can and will see God do through you as a communicator!

If you want to change the world, become an engaging speaker!

In this session we reviewed three places in Scripture that show the incredible potential that exists each and every time you step behind the microphone. Each time you go into a speaking scenario, raise your levels of expectations in terms of what can happen through you.

Reflect

In what ways have you seen the power of speaking/teaching transform your own life?

What passages of Scripture and/or stories in Scripture come to mind when you think of the incredible power that speaking/teaching can have on moving people towards life change?

The most powerful one I can think of is Jesus calling His disciples; He invited them and they left their way of life and followed Him.

The story that readily comes to my mind is the story of Jonathan, as told by the instructor in the course of this study ; that through teaching of God’s word, listening to engaging speakers and divine guidance of the Holy spirit, he realised he wasn’t an afterthought, and neither was he a burden to anyone.

He realized that there were potentials in him to be unlocked.

Thanks God he later became the president of his country and helped to formulate policies that changed the lives of poor families, thereby enabling children to be educated.
