Our Authoritative Story: The Big Narrative of Scripture

Discovering Our Authoritative Story
We know each other through our stories.
God doesn’t reveal himself to us through a list of facts, but through the biblical story from creation to new creation. The New Testament is a part of this story, but it’s not the whole story. If we want to understand the New Testament, we need a sense of the big story of the Bible as told to us in the Old and New Testaments together.
What is the big story of Scripture?
^ Shortcode ^
“God’s good kingship exercised through Israel His covenant people to renew creation.”
– Rikk Watts
The Bible is a story that invites us to enter its world. It’s the true story of everything — the story that we live in! We are living in the fifth act as we eagerly await Jesus’s return!

- How do you read Scripture differently when you think of it as your story? When you know that you are a part of the fifth act?
- How does this change how you live and your sense of mission?
