Discovering Our Authoritative Story

We know each other through our stories.

God doesn’t reveal himself to us through a list of facts, but through the biblical story from creation to new creation. The New Testament is a part of this story, but it’s not the whole story. If we want to understand the New Testament, we need a sense of the big story of the Bible as told to us in the Old and New Testaments together.

What is the big story of Scripture?

^ Shortcode ^

“God’s good kingship exercised through Israel His covenant people to renew creation.”

– Rikk Watts

The Bible is a story that invites us to enter its world. It’s the true story of everything — the story that we live in! We are living in the fifth act as we eagerly await Jesus’s return!

Test yourself:

How can you summarize the biblical story as a five-act drama?

5 Acts

1. Creation 2. Fall 3. Israel 4. Jesus 5. Church/New Creation

Read and reflect on the following questions:

    1. How do you read Scripture differently when you think of it as your story? When you know that you are a part of the fifth act?
    2. How does this change how you live and your sense of mission?

    1. How do you read Scripture differently when you think of it as your story? When you know that you are a part of the fifth act? ( The bible have 5 acts now we are live in 5th scene)
    2. How does this change how you live and your sense of mission? ( We have to think that we are actors on stage and work hard )
