I definitely see where I can get mentored and where people have been encouraging me so I can go to them for even just advice. But I definitely have been looking into more directed mysteries with homeless people. There is a couple at the one church that I need to get in contact with. I’m excited to see where that’s going to go. I think the piece that I’ve been struggling a bit with is actually doing it. Like you can buy coffee for somebody or give a homeless person some food but long-term wise it doesn’t help somebody out if that’s all they rely on. So I’m trying to take steps into possibly a homemade program but I definitely think I need to go through this year of school and then kind of take my next step from there.

@Mharraway it sounds like you are growing in your calling, or at least in the desire to enter into your calling…. Wrestling with the effectiveness of giving charity to the poor is important, but ultimately it is important that we seek to let the love of Jesus be our guide. Since he gave without reservation, even to Judas, it should cause me to ask, am I willing to do the same?

Since i’m already in ministry, and, is quite aware of the elements of growing in one’s calling, this study will definitely enhance my growth.

Hence, to grow my calling, i put-in for studies, development programmes and go to events in order to enhance my call. That is what i’m already doing.

What practical elements stand out for you? What are you already doing?

The elements of growing in my calling is Mentors. I work in a church 24 years ago,and now I word as a Board of the church, without a Pastor for almost 2 years, when I am a question, I go to my previous Pastor ask for question. He is my Mentor.

Some members are encouraging me to go learn more / study to upgrade my education, so I am refreshed to do the mission that God is calling me.

I went to the event for leadership and it’s inspiring. I will do it again. As of now I’m into the process into development programs that enhance my calling. And trying to get into it by preaching on Sunday if we don’t have a preacher. Doing home visition. Trying to do the Shepherding but it’s hard for me because I work Full Time, plus my kids into sports and doing my ministry.
