In paragraph format, respond to the following prompt:

The video stated that “it is the Holy Spirit that makes the church the church.” As Pentecostals we want this to be a reality in our churches, but as A. W. Tozer once said: “If the Holy Spirit was withdrawn from the church today, 95 percent of what we do would go on and no one would know the difference. If the Holy Spirit had been withdrawn from the New Testament church, 95 percent of what they did would stop, and everybody would know the difference.”

In light of this quote, is your personal experience of the church intimately linked to the work of the Holy Spirit?

Without the Holy Spirit, the purpose of ministry life would be basically pointless. We need to let the Holy Spirit work so peoples lives can be changed and we can grow to become disciples and missionaries for Jesus; reaching the lost world.

I really believe my experience in the Church is connected to the Holy Spirit. If I can be filled with the spirit on my own with God during the week then I want to have that same experience with like-minded followers in Church. If the Church is not moved by the Holy Spirit and filled with people who also long for that experience; what is the point of attending church? I often think about what Paul would say about the modern day churches , and I don’t want to be a lukewarm Christian just going through the motions.
