Dr  Juell makes the statement that in the New Testament, “Fasting is depicted not as an external practice, like the Pharisees, but an internal transformation expressed in righteous living.” What does this statement mean in general and for you as a follower of Jesus?

Fasting in not to be on display – it is a humbled act to open doors to connect with God to quiet the world and take away the distractions so we can. It is a quiet time with God not a party so to speak – well at the end of it maybe a huge celebration.
