Last time, we looked at the choice Proverbs target audience must make between Lady Folly and Lady Wisdom. This time we widen this audience to include everyone who wants to follow Jesus. We compare the wisdom of Proverbs with Jesus’ wisdom and look at several reasons that the wisdom of Proverbs is still worth pursuing today.

Contemplation and Listening Exercise
We need wisdom in order to follow Jesus. The wisdom of Proverbs was clearly valued by the authors of the New Testament and it remains relevant for our faith today.
Read Hebrews 12:1-17. Pay close attention to how the author expands and develops the wisdom found in Proverbs 3:11-12. Contemplate what it means to be disciplined by God.
