OBJECTIVES AND STRATEGIC INITIATIVES
First things first
How should an organization determine its priorities?
Without focus, an organization can become to broad and lose track of its vision and not fulfill its mission. This is why we engage in strategic initiatives: to help us accomplish our Mission and reach our preferred future.
"Where there is no vision, the people perish..."
Proverbs 29:18

I think this because to develop and release leaders, you need to have people from the next generation coming and being shaped by existing leaders. If there is no engagement from the next generation, there will be no future for an organization and there will be no leaders able to be sent to accomplish the goals of developing healthy churches and transforming communities.

I have been challenged learning about each of these Strategic Initiatives. I can’t say that I think there is a “most important” initiative. I think they need to work together. I will highlight Advocating for Church Vitality. As ACOP works to develop and release effective church leaders we also need to be encouraging towards effective and healthy churches. When our local churches are re-vitalized spiritually; when governance models are understood and cherished; when local and global mission and vision are inspired; when culture is infused with the fruit of the Holy Spirit then churches are ready to receive and work with effective leaders.

I think all of them are important in accomplishing ACOP's mission on developing and releasing effective leaders. All of them have parts in this strategies. But leadership holds the biggest part because they are the visionary on strengthening the body . They have the biggest role in the ministry. They look at the picture then follows the strategic initiatives. All of this strategies have part/ roles in the mission field.

I agree that leadership development is a critical part of growth, but to identify and be strategic about creating opportunities for next gen leaders to participate meaningfully in our churches is likely the key for older congregations. Not only that, but just to identify the strategy is not enough, we need to be very willing to step aside and make room for the next generation, and learn from the process.
