OBJECTIVES AND STRATEGIC INITIATIVES
First things first
How should an organization determine its priorities?
Without focus, an organization can become to broad and lose track of its vision and not fulfill its mission. This is why we engage in strategic initiatives: to help us accomplish our Mission and reach our preferred future.
"Where there is no vision, the people perish..."
Proverbs 29:18

I believe leadership development is the most important of the strategic initiatives as I believe all the others depend upon it. Healthy, equipped, and capable leaders are able to develop others, release others into their calling without feeling threatened or made smaller. Next gen leaders need healthy leaders to mentor them, church revitalization often needs to start or at least be championed by leadership, and both church planting and global expansion require healthy, equipped leaders. Ultimately, Jesus started by training 12 leaders to do what he did, even setting them up to do greater works by modelling for them a relationship with the Holy Spirit that they would soon have. I think that this primary focus is proven, and it bears fruit across all other initiatives.

- Leadership Development is the most important in my view; without effectives leaders, the rest will not come to fruition.

It seems to me that the inderlying principal which each of these initiatives has a flavor of is essentially “Disciple Making”. They are all centered around ensuring that we are self-sustaining, continuing into the next generation, expanding self-governing churches across the globe, and training leaders in a way that they can also train other leaders. All of these things are designed to make sure that we don’t get snuffed out when the active ministers of today die off, and that is an incredibly essential model to consider in a fellowship, or really any relational part of your life. Make sure it multiplies!

While I believe that each component is vital in its own way, I believe that leadership development is crucial. I movement and revival could not stand without skillful leaders. The way a leader holds themselves, responds to followers, and handles conflict can be dentrimental to a group. It is very important that leaders are sent out fully equipped for their mission, and prepared for whatever may come up.
