Importance of
the Call

Does knowing my call even matter or should I just let life take its course?

Last session we learned how God has called all of us to himself and to his mission. In our session today we see how God works through our calling to bring purpose and pleasure. Not only that, but His plan is for communities to be transformed through our calling.

Do you want to see communities transformed?

Are you seeking purpose or pleasure?

If you don’t have a strong desire just yet to see communities transformed, you probably at least have a desire to have purpose and pleasure in your life. All of these are results of walking in your calling. Walking in your calling can transform communities and individuals, including your own self-purpose and pleasure in life.

We never walk in our calling for purely selfish reasons, but there will always be personal and communal fruit to walking in our call by God’s grace.

In your life, where have you seen community impact or transformation through your faith?

I seen some transformation impact or transformation through faith by doing community service. Raking yards, praying for people and home visitation .

I have been serving at our community food bank for the last year, collecting clothes for our local clothing bank. Assisting with the Alpha Course within my church. I have started the program Peak2Peak within ACOP since last April 2023. The church community has brought faith within myself and family, God/Jesus is my therapy.

This past year has been a really interesting journey and as I have followed the sometimes difficult promptings of the Holy Spirit in my life I have seen his transforming work, not only in how I operate, but in how operating in the Spirit has impacted the relationships around me. I have seen God restore relationships that I had once thought we irreparably damaged, and knit hearts together in a group of women I thought otherwise had nothing in common. I also have seen how walking in faith and obedience seems to be evidenced in our lives to the people around us without the use of words and encourages them to pursue God more deeply in their own lives. Faith lived out gives birth to new and deeper faith.
