Their role is to come alongside and help when asked.. based on relationship rather than title, nothing is forced.

Being available for counsel and guidance in situations as needed and by providing the framework for sending missionaries into the field. They even help establish churches by lending their expertise to wade through the paperwork and become a registered charity. Above all, it provides leadership through relationship.

The role of the ACOP and the regional director in a self-governing church is one of relational authority. The involved parties agree to partner together for mutual benefit with the self-governing church knowing that they have an apostolic team, with their best interests in mind, willing to help as needed.

The role of ACOP to local churches is one of support, guidance, and connection. Their relationship is built on trust and the main channel of communication between the local church and ACOP is the lead pastor who has been credentialed with ACOP. The pastor can call on the regional director for guidance or support and the local church members are welcomed and encouraged to be involved with the ministry of ACOP.
I am not familiar with any other church structure like this but I think it is a great two-way relationship built on trust, respect, relationship, and the same passion for God and vision to show His grace and ignite hope.
