Great to see you getting started, Hugh! I’m excited about what God has in store for you as you keep moving forward on this journey of faith. Please let me know if there’s anything you need as you work through these materials. Blessings!

Hey, I’m Hugh! I’m a photographer that loves to be with people. I didn’t grow up Christian but once I was introduced to Christ in high school (2015), I encountered the Spirit and the power of God through my travels overseas. Malaysia 2017 Street Invaders was when my passion for missions was set ablaze, and Rwanda 2017 World Vision was when I turned an educational volunteer trip into a faith trip for myself being led by the Spirit. In 2017 I attended Eston College and met my wife there in 2018 but didn’t get married until 2021. Turkey 2018 Street Invaders was when I fell in love with the country and vividly remember feeling a “yeah, I’m going to be coming back here” feeling.

Ever since my first trip to Turkey, I knew the Lord was calling me back and my wife shared the same passion to minister to the people in that region. Since taking those first steps into joining ACOP Global Harvest, we have been immensely prayed over and surrounded by people who push us forward and support us. The most challenging thing for us has been fundraising in preparation before we move, but God has shown his faithfulness through it all.

Hello, I’m Taliya Luo-Tatebe. Ive had a calling on my heart since the age of 13 to make an impact for the Kingdom in the area of sex trafficking. Truthfully I feel like it’s been a slow journey and it almost feels like a calling that’s been put on the back burner, but I’m open to the opportunities God may bring my way in that area. I am a videographer and one day hope to make a documentary on the subject of sex trafficking. Until then, I’m using my creative gifts as a way to make relationships and live life fully. My husband, Hugh, and I love our community of friends and family and are excited to build more community in other countries. We love sharing our faith with our friends who are curious about Jesus and encouraging our friends who are currently in relationship with Jesus. Making disciples seems a little daunting, but taking a look at our life, I can begin to see how natural it could come for us with the leading of Holy Spirit in our friendships.

Hi Taliya! Obviously it has taken me some time to figure out how to reply on here 😜 we are learning together, haha. I appreciate hearing more of your story and what God has put on your heart. It is so neat how He often plants seeds in our hearts that He knows will be important to how life unfolds in the future. Don’t be discouraged if you don’t see some of those things springing to life yet, sometimes He gives you a peak very early on into something He has for you later. Keep praying into it and taking small steps of obedience as opportunities arise.
