Respond in paragraph format to the following prompt(s):

    • In the interview clip with Stan Powers, he said that credentialling "defined the relationship" between ACOP and the credential holder.  Why is that important?
    • What are the benefits of holding Credentials with ACOP?

Being credentialed with ACOP does two things that I see as very beneficial. First, it provides a level of trust and affirmation of your ministry. It is one thing to minister under your own reputation and relationships, but to minister with the stamp of approval and encouragement of a large body of trusted and experienced leaders lends a much more recognized level of trust. Second, being credentialed allows you to be part of a larger team. This comes with both accountability and collaboration, which I think are two essential components to longevity in ministry. Ministering as part of a team means that you are never walking alone, that there are others around you who will pray with you and cheer you on, knowing that you will do the same for them in their ministry.

I think it is so important that we have places that we belong, but also places that hold us accountable and challenge us to be better and have our backs and support us. All of these things, I believe, are involved in that relationship that comes through credentialing. It helps keep us from being islands as leaders and brings valuable and meaningful partnerships of trusted people to come alongside.

It’s important to understand the expectations and responsibilities both ways with any relationship, so helping to “define the relationship” between ACOP and a credential holder helps to provide that. What is expecting of me as a credential holder? What are my responsibilities? And what are my expectations of ACOP? When can I reach out, what conversations are appropriate, what conversations are required?

Benefits include an apostolic covering and accountability, which helps keep a credential holder focused on their destination by keeping them in guardrails and reminding them of their God-given destiny.
