When my parents moved to Moose Jaw and we first joined an ACOP Church, we started going to family camp at Kedleston Gospel Camp. I later did their LIT program and worked as staff, and now my husband and I run their LIT program. I first spoke in tongues at an evening service at a family camp and watched God heal people and speak through people over and over! It was also at camp that my oldest brother decided to go to Eston College, which led to all of my siblings and me going as well. Camp has and continues to have a significant role in my life and my journey with Jesus!

Bible camp has been a huge part of my spiritual journey. Camp was the place where I discovered my need for God’s salvation, it was where I was baptized in the Spirit, and the place where I was thrust into leadership. There is something powerful about leaving the routines of life and going into the wilderness to pray, worship and seek the Lord’s work in our lives. I am grateful for camp ministry and continue to be actively involved in serving at Bible camps across the province.

I think family & adult camps have been significant for the Pentecostal movement because it provides a space following the pattern of the Old Testament of the Feast of Booths to focus on Jesus not just as youth or kids, but as whole families.
I can’t say Bible Camps in the typical sense were a big part of my Spiritual formation, but during ministry school we went on a weekend retreat out in nature that was very significant. I experienced God in ways I hadn’t before, and felt Him encourage and challenge me to take steps that eventually led to vocational ministry.

Family camps and adult camps have had a significant impact on the Pentecostal Movement because they provide a unique opportunity for spiritual renewal, community building, and evangelism. These camps offer a setting where people can come together, share experiences, and deepen their faith in a relaxed and supportive environment. The informal and intimate nature of camps allows for meaningful connections, powerful teaching, and memorable experiences that can profoundly impact individuals and communities.
Bible camps have played a significant role in my spiritual journey, providing opportunities for growth, mentorship, and community. The experiences and relationships formed at these camps have helped shape my understanding of faith, encouraged me in my spiritual walk, and equipped me to serve others. The impact of Bible camps can be lasting, influencing one’s perspective, values, and commitment to their faith.
