Please read Luke 18:9-14 according to the Discover, Share, Obey approach. Complete the process by reflecting on who you can share insights with and deciding how you can practically act on what you read. Pay special attention to the interplay between grace and wrath in this passage. How does it shed further light on the insights of Packer?

Discover:2 kinds of man. One is self righteous and thinking he is better than others. and the other one is seeking Gods forgiveness and humbleness before God.

Share:God is looking for the inside heart and not the outside. God is looking for the humility of our heart and salvation not found in good deeds but by the grace of God. God is not looking for the motives and self glorification but looking for a servant heart.

Obey Approach: God is reminding us to be humble. For those who exalt himself will be humbled and those who humbled themselves will be exalted. God wants us to do everything for Jesus and not for glorification. As a Christian, we must do our service to glorify God and not ourselves.

Gods grace for us so we can have relationship with Jesus and God hates the proud.

Reflecting on who to share insight with on the twin gifts of Grace and wrath of God, in order to reconcile mercy and justice of God.

We need to accept God’s judgment because of who He is. Grace is key to our spiritual growth, among other factors. The wrath of God is basically a retributive action against those who have defied Him.

Lastly, we should reconcile the mercy and justice of God by living Holy lives and knowing who we truly serve and worship.
