The most important role of the regional director for me personally is mentoring and fathering. As I step into leadership, I really need the accountability and guidance of someone who has experience and understanding in order to grow into the leader God is calling me to be. I believe that mentorship is the model Jesus used with His disciples and that it is the most effective form of teaching and learning.

Of all the roles of the Regional Directors, the roles of being “Carriers of the Vision, Mission, Values, and DNA,” and Representing the heart of the president to their Region I think will be the most important to me right now. As someone who is new to the ACOP, having someone to engage with and through relationship connect with the embodied values, vision, mission, and DNA of the ACOP in a human being, will be very helpful. These things I have discovered are better caught through relational connection than they are taught by reading or watching videos (as informative as they can be). Operating in the local church, yet being connected to the ACOP through this relationship is vital for me in a small town context, to help not to drift and stay connected with a guiding Mission and Vision bigger than just what we see everyday in the local area.

What will be the most vital for me in my ministry will be coaching and mentoring. These two areas are important to me at this point in my journey.

Mentoring and Fathering. I’ve been a Christian for many years, but have never had a hunger for God like I do now. I am continuously learning new things, and in awe of His faithfulness.
