Read and respond to the following reflection questions:

    1. Paul's letters to Timothy have often been a source of encouragement to pastors and other people in ministry. How have you been impacted by these epistles? Do you have experiences of being both a mentoring Paul and a growing Timothy? What do we learn about encouragement and partnership in the gospel from their relationship?
    2. Think about the link between bad theology and bad behaviour. Have you seen this in your own life — that your false beliefs about God had ruinous consequences in your life? Or conversely, how have you seen truth as a catalyst for living the gospel in your everyday life?

(Paul wrote again to this young leader in the church at Ephesus to provide him encouragement and fortitude in the face of difficulties and trials.)
