Respond in paragraph format to the following prompts:

In what areas discussed in this video (relationships, future planning, money) have you encountered temptation to become proud? What are some ways to foster humility in these three areas?

I have encountered temptation to be proud in the area of relationship. I feel if I'm right , I need to pursue it. Not asking Gods will.

-putting someone down or condemning others.

    – thinking we are better than others.

And how can we overcome pride is to humble ourselves before the Lird and allowing God to be God and living in light of Him.

I have encountered the temptation to be proud in the area of money. Coming from a very poor background and then finding some financial success later in life made it easy to be prideful but I had to learn that all success, financially, socially, or any other type of success is due directly to the Lord.

I learned that success without the private and public acknowledgement that it is from the Lord felt hollow. There wasn’t joy, there wasn't the peace of living and knowing where my and my children's next meal was coming from.

We can foster humility in the areas of relationships, future planning, and money by being thankful.

Colossians 2:6-7 So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.

By acknowledging that as His child, I have been bought with a price and therefore do not belong to myself and all I have is because of Him and from Him. I want Him to be happy and bless my family as we show we can be entrusted to be good stewards of wealth for the kingdom.

@dostapyshyn great response. I like how you connect Colossians to this topic. Jesus really is the head of everything, and “in him and through him everything holds together.” When we have a good giver as the fount of our gifts, we can trust that they won’t just stop and we can be generous with what we have received! Wonderful.
