Read and respond to the following reflection questions:

    1. Spend some time in Col 1:15–20. Meditate, pray and worship. Ask the Spirit to settle this truth about Jesus deep inside of you. Share what stuck out to you or any new insights you gained from digesting this poem slowly. Who is Jesus?
    2. Throughout Paul’s epistles, he is countering heresies that threaten the unity of the church. These heresies devalue Jesus, promote false spiritual practices, and demand law-keeping. When we read Paul’s letters, too often we feel smug about these heresies, as if we ourselves aren’t susceptible. Yet these kinds of heresies creep in all the time. Have you ever found yourself buying into a heresy? What made it so dangerous? How does the person and work of Jesus expose this heresy as a lie?
