In Psalm 78:72 "David shepherded them with integrity of heart and with skilful hands he led them". This verse lists two competencies that King David used to lead Israel
- Shepherding with Integrity of Heart
- Leading with Skilled Hands
That's a powerful verse. As leaders Gods promise to his children, we are the head and not the tail. For me, as Christian leaders, we need to lead the right way. If a leader had a high integrity in heart, know who he is in God, have skilled or talent given by God, used it for Gods glory.
We need to have confidence in our self. Same thing if you go to the war, you need to be fitted to fight or do the work. You play sport, you need to be fitted for competition. We are Gods soldier ready to win the fight against our enemies.
I believe on equipping and training so we can stand in our ground. Standing on Gods promises.

We need to study to show ourselves approved.. we need to know scripture and not lead people astray, but we also need to disciple, exhort, correct and direct in love, and then of course we need to have ‘God’ motives. The second the platform becomes about us, a following, money or anything other than Jesus and pointing everyone to Him, there is a problem.

We can use these two principles by walking life and ministry in a state of accountability and ever growing as teachers and leaders.

The only way to do this is to remain intimately connected to Jesus. As far as leading with skilled hands, it means remaining teachable. There is always something we can learn and grow in. Allowing ourselves to be taught and mentored by others gives us the ability to do what God has called us to do with excellence.
