No I cant say that I have heard that phrase, “preach the gospel to yourself” but I can say that I have most definitely done it and on a regular basis lately. Its been a rough month. Thank goodness for community.

1. The number one emotion that I tend to experience now when dealing with sin is sadness. This leads me to ruminate on my negative thoughts about the perceived sin. The rumination leads me into a sense of hopelessness and disappointment with myself.
2. The scriptures that I tend to gravitate to are;
Psalms 23:4 Ya thou I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff they comfort me.
Jeremiah 29: 11 For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
Proverbs 3: 5-6 Trust in the Lord with al your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.
Philippians 4:13 I can do all this through him who gives me strength.
John 16:33 I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.
Isaiah 41:10 So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
These are just a few of my favorite go to verses when feeling low.
