- Especially since the Reformation, we've wrestled with how to understand the law. Does Paul's discussion of the law as tutor or babysitter in Galatians help you understand the purpose of the law? How so? What questions do you have? ( The controversy over whether salvation is through the law or by grace is not only a matter of the early church era, but also a matter that continues in our modern lives. The errors of lawism that people are saved by observing the law, anti-lawism that doesn’t matter how they live because everything is grace, and Galatianism that we are saved by faith but ultimately salvation is determined by our actions have been argued and confused to this day.)
- How would you summarize the role of the Spirit in Galatians? Why do you think Paul talks about fruit of the Spirit? ( When we follow Jesus and believe in the power of what He did on the cross for us, God fills us with the Holy Spirit)
