Read and reflect on these questions, in response to today’s topic.

    1. As you have followed Jesus, how have you grappled with the passages about suffering messiahship and suffering discipleship in Mark? Have they comforted you or discouraged you?
    2. From the beginning, the Gospel of Mark is rooted in the Old Testament. What other Old Testament references or echoes have you noticed in Mark? How has this helped you understand Mark and Jesus better?

    1. As you have followed Jesus, how have you grappled with the passages about suffering messiahship and suffering discipleship in Mark? Have they comforted you or discouraged you? ( Mark is encouraging his persecuted audience to follow Jesus through suffering and death so that they too may have eternal life. It was comforted me )

How has this helped you understand Mark and Jesus better? ( reference to Exodus 23:20, Malachi 3:1 and Isaiah 40:3 which he connects to Isaiah the prophet, The contents of the Old Testament are related to Jesus.)
