Respond in paragraph form to the following questions.

    1. What things seem to keep you from being available and attentive, or from prioritizing God?
    2. Mandy lists many different ways that God may speak to us (e.g. inner movements, dreams, memories, scripture, audibly, quietly, pictures and images, thought bubbles). Of these, which two could you say with MOST confidence that you have heard God speak to you? Which of these do you think you MAY have experienced but were still very uncertain about? If you are comfortable, briefly share your experience.

I truly believe God has been talking to me through all of the ways mentioned above except the thought bubble one and the audible one I believe it happened once in my entire life about nine years ago. I am doing my best to create time, space and attention for building my relationship with God through prayers, reading the Word, growing in my knowledge by advancing in Bible school, fasting, acting on the knowledge I get. Pray for me Mandy for God to lead and guide me though the help of the Holy Spirit; I see the grace of God in you. God bless you more.

Unfortunately, I let the business of life and my to do list rush me through times with God. I find it get distracted.

I have heard God’s Voice twice but as I’m maturing in my faith journey I’m starting to get images. This has happened a few times when we have been praying for someone as a group.

I’ve never heard an audible word from God, but I often wish I would! Every year I try to get away by myself for a weekend specifically to spend time listening for wisdom and direction. I always look forward to it and it gives me rest and clarity. Covid has made this more difficult but I’m encouraged to plan one again!

@Jenn I too feel like I have never heard God audibly, but I believe that I hear him in other unique ways (particularly through study and reading). It is important to remind our hearts that everyone hears God in unique ways that fit our personalities and present needs.

@martyv thanks for sharing your testimony about how you came to know Jesus through your university class. This is not a common story! Praise God for the amazing ways he works in our lives.
