That the gifts and Holy Spirit are not more important than Jesus and what He did on the Cross. They are things that follow Him but they are not above Him. Jesus and what He did and accomplished for us on the Cross is the most important and should remain so.

I love this story. Both men had a hunger for God, they wanted more, they wanted to learn more. Prayer is so amazing and powerful. When we pray and sit at the foot of Jesus and allow him to have his way, we do not know what will happen. We have to remember to put Jesus at the centre of all we do. We have to be patient always and allow God to have his way in our lives.

Both of these quotes center on Jesus. Both of them are based on experiences that the individuals had with Jesus. And both of them emphasize that the Spirit and Jesus are most certainly interconnected. I like that they both speak from a perspective that emphasizes that the Spirit is not above Jesus, it’s cool to hear that said even back then when so much of this was fresh. You might expect that it would take a while for people to be able to look back on things and perhaps see where the movement got a bit tunnel-visioned. The fact that this didn’t happen shows me even more that this movement was a very Jesus-centered and breathed movement.

Both of these quotes speak about the Trinity and how each part of it complements one another. I thought it was cool how in the first quote, Argue says how he waited on God and wanted to seek him more. He was filled with the Holy Spirit after this time. I think an important piece of pneumatology that is mentioned in these quotes are how the Spirit and the gifts of the Spirit are a beautiful piece of Christian living. They are important and are given to us by God.
