The Baptism of the Holy Spirit is a miracle, evidence of the reality of God and His personal concern for us. It facilitates our experiencing the favour of God and enjoying being able to worship in Spirit and truth. We get a glimpse of the joy of being in sync with the Spirit of God. It also is essential for ministering in power and authority and the observable gifts of the Holy Spirit in operation.

Having the Holy Spirit in my life today gives me power to live a victorious life .

The Holy Spirit should be an important part of how I live out my ministry day to day. Additionally the things we see in Acts 2 (the beginning of the church, signs and wonders, speaking in tongues, etc) should be things I actively seek out in my own discipleship, things I value, and things that I teach those I am discipling.

The outpouring of the Holy Spirit on the church at Pentecost being foundational to the ACOP means that the mandate and mission of the ACOP and its members can’t be accomplished without the ‘upon’ empowerment of the Holy Spirit. Hearing the story of pentecost afresh, I was struck by the fact that when the Holy Spirit fell on the gathered church, every member became a minister instantaneously. While Peter was the one to stand up and lead that moment, every church member was engaged in evangelism and testifying to the goodness of God. As a member of ACOP, part of my role is to receive the outpouring of Holy Spirit and become activated by Him to minister the gospel.
