Consider again the promise of being seated with Christ. There is no social proximity, no pomp or protocol, that separates children of God from nearness to the throne. How can this understanding of our standing with Jesus impact how we live and what it means to be truly human? Share your thoughts.

It is sweet to my ear to hear that promised to be seated with Christ.

As the youngest kid to 8 siblings, I always have the reputation that I am the most favourite and have had an abundance of childhood since I am the youngest. And I just laugh because I knew that that’s not true most of the time, considering our life status. But when I understand my standing in Jesus, it makes me always say that I am blessed to be God’s child even if I’m not the youngest to my Heavenly Father because I am sure that He loves me equally and unconditionally and that He has given me the privilege to be united with HIm. He gave me an inheritance and a chance to be truly human living a life that manifests who my Heavenly Father is, a representation of His character. (Genesis 1:27)

@RLumasag I love how you have reflected on this in light of your life with 8 siblings. Your comment about being the youngest in God’s family, while still being equally loved is such a wonderful thought. Romans 8:29 tells us that Jesus is the “Firstborn of many brothers and sisters.” In this regard, I think it is right to say that every Christian is like a second-born brother or sister to Jesus. In other words, we are all equal under Christ. There is no favouritism…one famous expression that captures this really well is: “The ground is equal at the foot of the cross.”

Just thinking of it, it gives me confidence in Christ; Knowing that He has promised us that relationship with those who believe and follow Him. It is so reassuring to know that nothing can take that away from us, only if we walk away from it. God is so good to us and He loves us so much that He closed that huge gap between us. He broke every chain that was dragging me into hell and set me free but not only that, but He promised me that I would be seated with Him in heaven, now that is beautiful. That is for sure more than I deserve. Living every day with this knowledge gives me excitement for Christ (I am not perfect so sometimes I fall and sometimes I don’t appreciate this as much as I should) But I feel I have a spark in me that not everyone likes and I hear about it and it encourages me to keep going, dig deeper, learn more, and love always.

The promise of being seated with Christ is sweet melody to my ears. Because, there’s no social proximity, no pomp, or protocol, that separates children of God from nearness to the throne.

God loves us equally and unconditionally, He has given me the privilege to be united with Him.

Lastly, Jesus has given me an inheritance to be truly human and victorious.

    Thank you Lord.
