    Of the original purposes listed for the formation of the ACOP, which stands out to you as the most interesting, and why?

    1. To establish and carry on a church for the worship of God to be known as “Apostolic Church of Pentecost” and for this purpose to develop the work of such Church in all its branches in Canada;
    2. (For such purposes) to buy, acquire, hold, sell or lease real estate or personal property, and to build upon, improve or otherwise develop real property;
    3. To sell or otherwise dispose of the property of the Corporation, or any part thereof, as the Corporation may think fit;
    4. To carry on home and foreign missionary work for the spread of the Gospel of Jesus Christ;
    5. To engage in philanthropic work of any kind;
    6. To print, publish, distribute and sell and buy Christian literature, periodicals, pamphlets, booklets, books and other writings for the furtherance of the work of the Corporation;
    7. To solicit, collect and accept moneys or funds, or other subscriptions of money or goods for carrying on the work of the Corporation and any other Christian or benevolent purpose

      @KarryMac good answer. I’m struck by how the tool we are using right now, ECO, furthers this mission in digital format. We are grateful for the money that was given by donors to make this possible.

    I find #2 fascinating. Having property is so important! In the summer you would have the logistics of tent ministry to figure out, but costs would be relatively low. However, in this part of the world you need a long term solution or your church dies out every winter. You would need to commit to a mortgage long term, and having an organization to back this would prevent the pastor needing to use personal credit in order to procure such a large loan. I’ve never been a part of a church plant from the very beginning, but these logistical details must be such a hindrance without a structured organization for guidance and support.

    Number seven is interesting in that it leaves room for expanded vision. Projects and ministries (and more!) that had not been imagined yet. The way it is worded creates room for the ACOP to not be limited or boxed in as an organization.
