Read and respond to the following reflection questions:

    1. Spend some time in the scenes of worship in Revelation, such as chapters 4–5. Ask the Spirit to plant in your heart a deep confidence that God is on the throne and that Jesus has already won the victory. How does this scene reorient your perspective on the rest of Revelation? How does it reorient your perspective on your life right now? Does Revelation bring you to your knees?
    2. Knowing about the seven churches in Asia Minor and the Roman Empire will give you new insight into Revelation. Check out the study notes in your Bible, a Bible dictionary (the IVP series is great), or a commentary like Gordon Fee’s. Share some of the things you learn about the seven churches and life in Asia Minor under the power of Rome.

This is essentially a visualization of the periodic prayer. “As if the will of the kingdom has been achieved in heaven, it has been achieved in the earth.” The kingdom of God comes through Jesus’ sincere evidence and sacrificial death)

(For this church, Jesus praised their patience, patience, false doctrines, and hatred of evil deeds. But he scolded them)
